Chocolate BROWNIE

 


BROWNIE - a square baked chocolate dessert was developed in the US at the end of the 19th century and became popular in the US and Canada during the first half of the 20th century.

This dessert comes in a variety of forms and may be either fudgy or cakey depending on the density.  The variations may include nuts, cream cheese, choc-chips or other ingredients.   



Brownies are eaten by hand, accompanied by milk, served warm with ice creams, topped with whipped cream or sprinkled with powdered sugar and fudge.  This is a popular dessert in Australia, North America & the UK; served at restaurants & coffee shops.
 
 
 

INGREDIENTS & METHOD

1.5 cups hazelnut sauce, 2 tbsp. coco powder, 2 cup plain yogurt, 1 cup self-raising flour, 200 gms cooking milk chocolate (roughly chopped)
 
Pre-heat oven to 180 deg. C.  Grease & line the base and sides of a square cake dish.  Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, mix well.  Spoon the mixture into prepared cake dish and smooth the surface.  Bake for 45 mins (approximate time, cooked until firm and tough).  Set aside to cool completely.  Slice and serve.
