Hare Krishna, May Lord Krishna's Kripa shine on you

"I am the conscience in the heart of all creatures
I am their beginning, their being, their end
I am the mind of the senses, I am the radiant sun among lights, I am the song in sacred lore, I am the king of deities, I am the priest of great seers."

We adore Krishna and pray Him as the avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu, the Supreme Consciousness, the Brahman, the Purna Purushotaman. Krishna in many forms, resides in the hearts of all of us. He represents the core Indian thoughts, values and culture in myriad ways, not only in religion, spirituality and philosophy, but also in our arts, music, dance, sculpture and in all aspects of our traditions & folklore. We adore him as our child and as our Guru, the supreme Teacher in Bhagavad Gita.

Significance of Janmashtami is the importance of Dharma in daily life. We humans are imprisoned in samsara & He incarnates in this prison within us, to establish dharma and redeems us from maya. We liberate as we seek His kripa, as did Arjuna during the battle of Mahabharatha.

As sage Ved Vyas ordains: "Yato Krishnastato dharmaha, Yato dharmastato Jayaha."  ie. Where there is Krishna, there is Dharma, where there is dharma, there is victory.  Janmashtami signifies not only the birth of a great and Divine Teacher but also the lighting of the spark of the Divine Power in every one of us.
