My Mother's recipe
Ingredients: 3 cup fresh or desiccated grated coconut, 1-2tsps. cardamom powder, 1 ½ cup sugar (increase or decrease according to your taste), and 2-3 tsps. ghee or clarified butter, water & milk as required
Optional items - handful of chopped & roasted cashews or almonds, 400gms condensed milk
Method: in a pan or kadai, heat ghee and add grated coconut and sauté for few minutes (don’t allow it to turn brown). Add sugar, cardamom powder and keep on stirring in low flame till the mixture thickens and become dry but still soft. Pour this mixture to a greased plate and flatten it evenly. When little bit cool, cut into desired shapes & serve
