Sesame Chikki
Chikki is a traditional ready to eat Indian & Pakistani sweet, prepared using jaggery with other ingredients such as groundnuts, sesame, coconut etc., Here is my version of preparing the same in my kitchen.
Ingredients
- Roasted white sesame seeds - 1/2 cup
- Jaggery powder - 1/2 cup (more or less to taste)
- water as needed
- Clarified butter (ghee) - 1/2 tsp.
- Dry roast sesame seeds until golden brown
- Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan
- Melt jaggary with water until it reaches thread consistency
- Add roasted sesame seeds, keep stirring until the mixture starts leaving sides of the pan
- When cool prepare tiny little balls out of this mixture
- Can be stored in an air tight container up to 1-2 weeks
