Ingredients for dough
- 1 cup - milk powder
- 2 tsp. - plain flour
- 1-2 tsps. - unsalted butter
- Pinch of cooking soda
- Milk/water as required to make a soft dough
Ingredients for sugar syrup - 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, pinch of cardamom powder
Method
- Using the sugar syrup ingredients, make sugar syrup to thread consistency (on a medium flame)
- Using the dough ingredients, make a soft dough and let it rest for 20 minutes
- Out of the dough, make small bite size balls (grease your palm with butter)
- Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan, deep fry jamoon balls on a low flame until golden brown
- While the fried jamoon balls are still hot, soak them in the hot sugar syrup and keep it aside for 30-45 minutes (to double jamoon size)
- On a plate, add some grated dry coconut, remove soaked jamoons from sugar syrup and roll them in dry coconut, refrigerate for 1-2 hours, serve chilled
