TAMILIAN Tair Vade (ತೈರ್ ವಡೆ)

ಮೊಸರು ವಡೆ / DAHI VADA



Tair (mosaru) Vada



Ingredients
  • 1 cup urud dal 
  • green chillies to taste
  • Pepper corns to taste
  • salt to taste
  • Chopped onion (optional)
  • 1 cup coriander
  • pinch of hing powder
  • Thick plain curd (yogurt) as required
  • 1-2 tsps. sugar (optional)
  • oil for deep frying
 
Method
  • Wash & soak urud dal for 4 hours
  • Grind (smooth texture) with other ingredients
  • Heat oil in a kadai, from the grinded mixture - make small balls and deep fry until golden brown
  • In a large bowl, add thick yogurt, sugar, season with mustard seeds, garnish with chopped coriander leaves, soak deep fried vada in this yogurt mixture for 30 mins (or until vadas are soft) and serve immediately

TIPS - Vadas can be served with coconut chutney or onion sambar as well
