Varamahalakshmi Vrata - religious festival to satisfy the Goddess Lakshmi, the wife of Vishnu of the Hindu Trinity.  It is an important Vrata (pooja) performed on the Second Friday each year (Friday before the full moon day in the month of July / August) by women in South India; the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & Telangana for health, wealth, peace & prosperity of family members.

BANANA & SOOJI HALWA - 1 chopped banana, 1.5 cup roasted coarse sooji, 1 cup brown sugar, 8 cardamoms, pinch of turmeric powder, 1 tbsp. each roasted cashews & raisins, 2 tbsp. each ghee, milk & dry coconut
