Watermelon Smoothie
Watermelons are a summer-time staple and are low in most vitamins and minerals. They are considered as a good source of vitamin C and beta-carotene (which human body produces into vitamin A). Watermelons with red flesh have more lycopene than tomatoes which are a nutrient believed to protect against prostate cancer.
This is one of my favourite fruit and here is my version of preparing smoothie out of it.
I have used following ingredients:-
- 3-4 cups of watermelon chunks
- sugar to taste (optional)
- 1-2 tsps. of ginger powder (fresh ginger may be used)
- 1/2 - 1 tsp. almond meal or almond extract
- 2-3 cups of plain yogurt
- 1 cup crushed ice
