MYSORE BONDA (quick & easy version)

 




Mysore Bonda - a deep fried snack from the South Indian State of KARNATAKA.  This dish is served with coconut chutney or sambar.




INGREDIENTS & METHOD (quick & easy version)


1 cup plain flour, 1/4 cup rice flour, 1/2 tsp. cooking soda, salt to taste, green chilli to taste, 1 tsp. each - cumin seeds & ginger paste,  1-2 tablespoon chopped coconut pieces, 1 cup plain yogurt or butter milk,  water if required, Oil for deep frying.


In a mixing bowl,  add above ingredients (except oil for deep frying) and make a batter (idli consistency).  Keep it aside for 15 mins.  

In a frying pan - heat oil,  take a spoonful of mixture and deep fry both sides on a medium heat until golden brown.

Remove from heat, drain any excess oil, place on a serving plate and serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
