Caramel Slice





Ingredients & Method for BASE

  • 8 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup plain flour
Combine BASE ingredients in a mixing bowl, bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 deg. C for about 20 minutes.   Allow this base to cool.




Ingredients & Method for FILLING
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon caramel syrup 
  • 400gms can sweetened condensed milk

In a sauce pan, add FILLING ingredients, cook on low-medium heat for about 8 minutes (until golden brown).

How to Proceed

Pour the filling over cooked base, bake further for about 12 minutes (or until firm).  Remove from oven, allow to cool completely, refrigerate for about 4 hours (or until set).  Cut into slices and serve.
