BENGALURU ADIGE - MIXED DAL CHUTNEY




Serving with my Onion-Rava Uttappam

Mixed DAL Chutney  is one of specialty dish in Bangalore (Karnataka State) which is served with Dosa; where 3 different DALS are dry roasted and grinded with other ingredients into smooth texture.

To make this delicious Bangalore Specialty Chutney - all your need is:-


  • 1/4 cup each - toor dal, chana dal & urud dal (roasted until golden brown)
  • tamarind paste / juice, salt & dry red chillies to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated dry coconut
  • few curry leaves
  • 1-2 tsps. jaggary or brown sugar (optional)
  • FOR SEASONING - hing & mustard seeds seasoned in oil

  • Dry roast all 3 dals until golden
  • Add curry leaves, coconut & dry red chillies - roast lightly
  • When cool, grind to smooth texture by adding salt, jaggary and tamarind juice
  • Season with hing & mustard seeds
  • Serve with Dosa
