Nasi Goreng - the National dish of Indonesia (place of Origin - Indonesia, Singapore & Malaysia) is a Stir-Fried Rice cooked in a small amount of oil, spiced with sweet soy sauce, chilli, garlic, onion, other spices - accompanied by other ingredients such as mixed vegetables (for vegetarian version), eggs, chicken etc., (for non-vegetarian version).
Ingredients
- For the Nasi Goreng Sauce - onion, sweet soy sauce, soy bean oil, wheat & rice flours, salt, garlic, tomato paste, palm sugar, tamarind juice, dried chilli, pepper, vinegar, turmeric, nutmeg - blended into coarse paste
- Mixed Vegetables - 2 cup (stir-fried)
- Brown Rice - 2 cup (cooked)
- Extra salt & dry red chillies to taste (if required)
- Sliced Tomatoes & Cucumber - for garnishing
- Combine Nasi Goreng Sauce, sliced onions, chopped vegetables in a large pan (on medium heat) and stir-fry for about 10 minutes
- Add cooked rice, salt to taste - stir-fry until mixed and heated through
- Serve hot with sliced cucumber & tomatoes
