Custard Pie
Ingredients
- Pastry Sheets - 2
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 tsp. custard powder
- 3 cup thick cream
- 3/4 cup sugar (more or less to your taste)
Method
- In a large bowl, blend sugar, vanilla extract, custard powder with little milk to form a smooth paste. Add thick cream and heat gently, stirring continuously until the mixture is thickened
- Preheat oven to 180 deg. C
- Grease a pie dish with little melted butter or oil
- Place one pastry sheet at the bottom, trim the edges
- pour the custard mixture, sprinkle with nutmeg powder
- close the mixture with second pastry sheet, brush with water and press edges together
- Make few cuts on top for steam to escape
- bake for about 30-40 minutes or until done
- Remove from oven, allow it to cool & serve with cream
