Custard Pie




Ingredients
  • Pastry Sheets - 2
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp. custard powder
  • 3 cup thick cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar (more or less to your taste)

Method
  • In a large bowl, blend sugar, vanilla extract, custard powder with little milk to form a smooth paste.  Add thick cream and heat gently, stirring continuously until the mixture is thickened
  • Preheat oven to 180 deg. C
  • Grease a pie dish with little melted butter or oil
  • Place one pastry sheet at the bottom, trim the edges
  • pour the custard mixture, sprinkle with nutmeg powder
  • close the mixture with second pastry sheet, brush with water and press edges together
  • Make few cuts on top for steam to escape
  • bake for about 30-40 minutes or until done
  • Remove from oven, allow it to cool & serve with cream
