Stir-Fried Cabbage

Here is my modified version of the recipe for Stir-fried  Cabbage:-



Ingredients
  • 1/2 of shredded cabbage
  • 2 carrots cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup chana dal (soaked for 1/2 hour)
  • 1 tsp. each of coconut powder & corn flour
  • Fresh red & green chillies (coarsely grinded)
  • salt to taste
  • Pinch of Ajinomoto (Chinese salt)
  • 1 tsp. freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tsps. each of rice vinegar & soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. peanut butter
  • 3 tsps. of sesame oil or peanut oil
  • 2 generous spoons of toasted sesame seeds (for garnishing on top)

Method
  • Soak chana dal for 20-30 minutes, drain and keep it aside
  • Lightly toast sesame seeds and keep it aside
  • Heat peanut or sesame oil in a frying pan, toss chopped carrots & cabbage until tender but maintain the crispiness
  • Slowly add other ingredients and salt, mix well to combine
  • Garnish with toasted sesame seeds on top and serve hot 
  • Can be served with rice or hot pulkas (fat-free Indian flat bread)
