AMERICAN Rocky Road Fudge

FUDGE is a kind of sweet & rich Western confectionery (originated in the United States back in 1886) made out of sugar, milk & butter heated and beating the mixture by adding additional ingredients into a smooth & creamy texture.





INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp. golden syrup OR 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped cooking chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cup marshmallows (is a confection and its use to make sweet dates back to Ancient Egypt)
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut


METHOD
  • In a heavy bottomed pan - add milk, butter, sugar & golden syrup, heat on a low flame stirring continuously until sugar is dissolved and the butter is melted
  • Add chopped chocolate, marshmallows & coconut, mix well to combine and keep stirring until chocolate is melted and the mixture reaches soft ball stage 
  • Remove from heat and pour this mixture into a greased cake tin, smooth top
  • Set this aside for 30-40 minutes, cover and refrigerate until it's firm (it takes about 4-5 hours)
  • When the mixture is firm, cut into pieces and serve
