RAJASTHANI Beetroot Fry



Ingredients
  • 3 beetroots - chopped into small cubes
  • 1 chopped onion
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying
  • sugar - 1 tsp.
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.
  • 1-2 tsps. each of mustard seeds & cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp. each of coriander powder, red hot chilli powder, chat masala, amchur powder (mango powder), garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp. red chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp. sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. coconut powder

Method
  • Heat oil in a pan, season with mustard seeds, cumin seeds & sesame seeds
  • fry onions until golden brown, fry beetroot until tender
  • slowly add other spice ingredients with salt to taste, mix well to combine
  • serve with any Indian bread varieties
