TURKISH Gözleme
Gözleme is a savoury traditional Turkish handmade and hand-rolled Pastry. Fresh pastry is rolled out, filled and sealed, then cooked over a griddle. For making Vegetarian Gözleme - Spinach and Feta Cheese, potatoes, pumpkins, mushrooms can be used.
Recently I tried this Turkish cuisine during my visit to a local street-side festival and got to know the method of preparing this delicious dish and & here is the recipe.
Ingredients for the Dough
- 3 cup plain flour or all-purpose flour (used for bread making)
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. olive oil
- Water to make dough (thick & soft dough)
- Lemon wedges, to serve
For Filling I used
- 160 gms spinach leaves (lightly cooked)
- 200 gms crumbled feta cheese
- Salt & pepper to taste
