ANDHRA - MOONG DAL CHUTNEY
Veyinchena (roasted) Ramamulaga (tomato) Pesara Pappu (moong dal) Pachadi (chutney)
Simple, easy, oil-free, onion & garlic free, coconut-free recipe which has a great taste when served with dosa, idli or plain rice.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup roasted moong dal (pesara pappu)
- 3 chopped tomatoes (rama mulaga)
- Dry red chillies to taste
- 1 tsp. urud dal
- 1 tsp. mustard seeds
- pinch of hing powder
- salt to taste
- Curry leaves, to garnish (optional)
Method
- Roast moong dal, urud dal, mustard seeds & red chillies until golden brown
- Roast tomatoes
- When cool, blend with hing, salt into a smooth paste
- Serve with dosa, idli or rice
