ANDHRA - MOONG DAL CHUTNEY



Veyinchena (roasted) Ramamulaga (tomato) Pesara Pappu (moong dal) Pachadi (chutney)

Simple, easy, oil-free, onion & garlic free, coconut-free recipe which has a great taste when served with dosa, idli or plain rice.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup roasted moong dal (pesara pappu)
  • 3 chopped tomatoes (rama mulaga)
  • Dry red chillies to taste
  • 1 tsp. urud dal
  • 1 tsp. mustard seeds
  • pinch of hing powder
  • salt to taste
  • Curry leaves, to garnish (optional)

Method

  • Roast moong dal, urud dal, mustard seeds & red chillies until golden brown
  • Roast tomatoes
  • When cool, blend with hing, salt into a smooth paste
  • Serve with dosa, idli or rice
