Besan Laddu
Besan Laddu - Besan laddu
is a rich, sweet dessert-snack made from gently roasted gram flour
(besan/chickpea). Laddu's can be served any time of the day. Traditionally in
Indian households burfi’s & laddu’s are served as cookies and chocolates.
Ingredients - 4 cups besan flour, 2 cups
powdered sugar, 1 cup ghee (clarified butter), ½ cup warm milk, 1 tbsp. nutmeg
powder, 1 tbsp. cardamom powder, raisins/cashews (optional)
Method - In a pan, heat ghee and add
besan flour. Mix and roast the mixture till smell of roasted besan comes &
mixture turns reddish in colour. Turn of the stove and add milk and mix it
well. When mixture is warm, add sugar, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder.
Mix everything by hand and make round shape balls. Garnish with raisins
or cashews on top. When cool, store in an airtight container.
