9 cup Burfi
9 cup burfi - this is my
self-designed recipe using different ingredients which tastes delicious.
Give it a try and I am sure you will love the irresistible taste!!
Ingredients: 1 cup ghee, 1 cup
sugar, ½+1/2 milk+condensed milk (to make 1 cup), 1 cup
semolina (roasted), 1 cup rice flour(roasted), 1 cup wheat
flour (roasted), 1 cup besan flour (roasted), ½+1/2 badam
powder+Horlicks (to make 1 cup), 1 cup dried
coconut (toasted), Pinch of cardamom powder to taste,
Few cashews, almonds for garnishing.
Method:
1. Roast semolina and 3 flours
and keep it aside. (roast each one separately) 2.
Toast coconut till golden brown. 3.
Toasting nuts is optional; I didn’t toast them as I just
used raw ones for garnishing only. 4.
Heat ghee in a pan, combine sugar, milk, condensed milk
and cardamom powder and boil on low heat until sugar dissolves. 5.
Add roasted flours, semolina, toasted coconut, mix well,
keep stirring (on low flame) until mixture leaves sides of pan and form like a
big mass. 6. Pour this mixture onto a
greased plate, pat it down well for smooth consistency. Decorate with
nuts on top and allow it to cool. 7. When cool,
cut into your desired shape and serve.
