Spicy Puffed Rice (ಕಡ್ಲೆಪುರಿ)
Ingredients - 2 cups puffed rice, handful of peanuts and hurigadle, 1 tsp. oil, few curry leaves and dry red chillies, pinch of hing (asafoetida), turmeric powder, salt and red chilli powder to taste.
Method
- fry peanuts and hurigadle until golden brown in colour. Add hing,
turmeric powder, curry leaves, dry red chillies, salt and red chilli
powder, fry for few seconds. To this add puffed rice (or paper avalakki / poha can be used)
and toss for few minutes and serve with tea or coffee. This snack can
be stored in an air-tight container for freshness and keep in your
pantry for up to one week.
